Hi! My name is Mrs. Schuster and I am so excited to be your child's third grade teacher this school year.
I graduated from Kent State University in May of 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have a Reading License for teaching preschool to third grade. This is my sixth year teaching Third Grade here at Grant. I absolutely love being a part of the Grant staff and school community.
Prior to becoming a Bulldog, I taught preschool in a co-teach classroom at Kennedy Early Learning Center for three years. One of my favorite things about working in Willoughby-Eastlake is that I get to teach in the school district that I grew up in and went to school in!
While working at Grant, I have had the pleasure of being involved in a variety of activities. From, helping to organize our after school running club, Just Run, to volunteering at our Scholastic Book Fairs, to attending many of our PTO meetings, to tutoring students after school at our Bulldog Bonus Hour, to helping plan and organize our One Book, One School events; I just love the community of students and families we have here and being able to be a part of something that our students enjoy and thrive in. Outside of being involved in our school, I also have worked the as a third grade teacher for our district's Summer Learning Camp and this past summer I was fortunate enough to be the assistant principal.
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my puppy, being crafty and using Pinterest to find inspiration for house decorations and healthy recipes! I love to run, play volleyball and hang out with my family and friends on the weekends. Additionally, my husband and I enjoy being outdoors and going on vacations together. This summer, we were fortunate enough to travel with friends to Myrtle Beach for the first time.
As you can see, from all of my past teaching experiences and my personal life, I truly enjoy what I do and I am committed to giving your child the best education they deserve. I know it's going to be a great year together!
